Week 4

Good morning all! this week is going to be busy!! we have 3 techniques to look at..trapunto, beading and couching and we are going to be sorting out what needs to be done for week 5 (after the hols) Dont forget, next week is half term...so you can stay at home and sew in cosy comfort in front of the telly!

Week 3

Hello Ladies! How are you doing with your samples? From what i saw last week you are all getting going with them...don't leave things til the last minute...try doing a little, often. This week we are exploring hand embroidery and I have lots of samples and books for you to have a look at....if you have an embroidery hoop at home, could you bring it...I have a few to borrow though so no panic if you haven't.

week 2

Hello!! this week we are looking at applique. I am going to show you a really easy way to create a piece of applique using a product called "bondaweb". I am also showing you how to put together a project from your first idea to the finished project...I hope it will help you over the next few weeks. we will looking at The Quilts of Gee's Bend....it's very interesting....I have books, postcards and some samples for you to look at too. Week 1

It was lovely to meet you all last week at induction..well done for getting all that paperwork done! this week we'll be exploring the internet and working on some basic patchwork techniques. Looking at templates and patterns as well as small patched items. For week 2 could you make sure you bring along some fabric as we are going to do applique. We will also be learning about the Gee's Bend Quilts. Try "google"ing and look at some images.
